Return to WS 5.0 Home Page
These steps can be referenced as quick steps or click on the links for details about each step.
Prepare the Objects for the Menu
If you only have one graphic, the Menu Maker will duplicate it and use it for the Main Menu and the Menu Items.
If you have two graphics, then hold down the Shift key and click on the graphic for the Main Menu and then the graphic for the Menu Items.
Make the Menu using the Menus command
Place one or two graphic objects on the page to use for the Menu. If you only use one object, the Menu Maker will use it for both the Main Menu and the Menu Items.
Change the size or color of the objects for the menu.
Select the object or objects (Hold down the Shift key and click on the Main Menu object first, then the Menu Item object)
Click on Create > Menus > Menus command>Menu Dialog. This opens the Menu Studio.
See Menu Maker for a diagram of the parts of the Menu.
Fill in the Menu Studio
View and Design the Menu in the Design Menu tab
From the
Menu Studio, click the
Save then Design Menu button to go to the
Design Studio. This opens in a
Preview Page window so you can see the Menu in action as you make design choices. You can also open the Design Studio by double clicking a Main Menu.
Choose the design features for the menu, navigation bar, Main Menu and Menu Items.
Close the Preview Page tab to apply all of the changes to the Menu.

Duplicate the Main Menu
The easiest way to apply the same design features to the Menu is to design one Main Menu with Menu Item and then duplicate it. Do this on your web page, not in the Design Studio.
Hold down the CTRL key and then click and drag the menu to create a duplicate. You can also use the right-click Selected Object menu or the Copy/Paste commands on the ribbon.
Click on a Main Menu to open the Menu Studio. Use this dialog to change the Title and populate the pages and links for the Menu.
See the Menu in action
In order to see the Menu in action, you need to Preview the Page. If you want to also check the links, then you need to Preview the Website or Preview the Links.
Note:
You can use any graphic objects to make the Menus. Once you choose the graphics and prepare them for the Menu, the Menu Maker command opens the Menu Maker Studio where you add the Menu Items (links to pages), sub menus and external links. The Design Studio contains a variety of commands that you use to make design choices.
After you create the Menu, you can easily edit the Menu.
