Copy and Paste a Background

You can copy any graphic background and paste it onto another page. You cannot copy solid color backgrounds. Use the Background Color Command in the Page Tab to change the color. See Add a Solid Color Background or Change and Remove Backgrounds.

Copy and Paste an existing graphic background

  • Click on Home Tab>Edit Group>Copy>Copy Background or right click over a background and choose Copy Background from the resulting Page Background Menu.
  • Open the page you want to fill with the background.
  • Click on Home Tab>Edit Group>Paste>Paste Background or right click over a page and choose Paste As Background from the resulting Context Menu.
  • The background fills the page.

Copy and Paste a graphic object or text to use as a background

  • Select a graphic object or text object.
  • Click on Home Tab>Edit Group>Copy>Copy or right click over the object and choose Copy.
  • Open the page you want to fill with the background.
  • Click on Home Tab>Edit Group>Paste>Paste.
  • The background fills the page.

  Backgrounds are made by tiling a graphic across and down the page. Depending on the graphic you choose, you may see seams or get a background that doesn't look good. Graphics made to use as backgrounds usually have seamless tiling.
