Borders Around Shapes

The border is a line around a shape. This line is made or changed using the Line Commands: Line Color, Line Style, Line Width. Any Command that can be applied to a line, can also be applied to a border. The border can be removed by selecting None in the Line Style Command.

   You can choose the color, style and width before you make a shape or anytime after. 

Choose a border color

  • If you have a shape, select it. If you are choosing the color first, go to the next step. 
  • Click on Draw Tab>Fill Group>Line Color. This opens the Color dialog

  • Choose a basic color from the first window or click More Colors. In the next window, choose the color that you want on the Standard tab or mix your own color on the Custom tab.
  • Click OK and the border line becomes that color.

Choose a Border Style and Width

  • If you have a shape, select it. If you are choosing style and width first, go to the next step.
  • Click on Draw Tab >Borders & Lines>Styles or Width. This displays a drop down menu of choices.

     

  • Select the style or width that you want. If you don't want a border, choose None in the Width Command.
  • The selection is applied to the border line.

Remove the border from around a shape

  • Select the shape.
  • Click on Draw Tab>Borders and Lines>Width>None.
  • The border line is removed from the shape.
